General Insurance Services

Chegwyn Insurance Brokers will:

  • Meet with you where necessary.
  • Advise you on what exposures your business faces.
  • Provide general insurance services.
  • Obtain the necessary information from you to present to the insurance market.
  • Collate differing options available to you.
  • Report to you in a manner which not only outlines the available options to you but provides detailed recommendations for your insurance services.
  • On your instruction – place cover with the insurers, invoice you, obtain policy documentation from the insurers and provide to you.
  • Periodically review your insurance services arrangements throughout the term of insurance and attend to any changes that you may require throughout the year.
  • Instigate a detailed insurance review no less than 30 days from the expiry date of your insurance covers.

Claims Management Services

Chegwyn Insurance Brokers will:

  • Receive notification of incidents and insurance claims from you.
  • Advise you on what documentation will be required to support your insurance claim.
  • Submit insurance claims directly to the insurer in a detailed and professional manner.
  • Inform you of the appointment of loss adjusters, solicitors and other consultants by your insurer.
  • Recommend and facilitate the appointment of other professional advisors if necessary.
  • Actively work with your insurer or their representative to resolve and negotiate claims effectively and promptly.
  • Arrange for progressive payments for large claims.
  • Ensure timely receipt of settlement payments from your insurer.
  • Periodically review outstanding estimates and keep you informed on the current position of outstanding claims.

We believe that the handling of insurance claims requires an intimate knowledge of your programme and that is why you maintain a single relationship with your broker and are not passed onto an insurance claims department with whom you do not have the same relationship.

Chegwyn Insurance Brokers will:

  • Review of WICS Classification and application for retrospective adjustment or premium appeal where applicable.
  • Revision of wage declarations and premium calculations.
  • Premium forecasting.
  • Claim estimate monitoring & negotiating with insurers. Application for retrospective adjustment on premium appeal where applicable.
  • Claims review meetings.
  • Expert technical assistance & advice including all legislative changes.
  • Strategic assistance & advice on difficult claims.
  • Development of service level & other agreements with insurers.
  • General advice & support on all workers compensation related matters.
